DE VOLKSKRANT - ‘Adinda Meertins controls the latin, salsa and jazz bass to her small fingertips, adding just that little bit of extra swing to finish it off. It’s official: I was blown away.’

Adinda graduated in 2009 from the Rotterdam Conservatory, CODARTS. During her studies she was already asked to play with renowned latin ensembles in Europe like Nueva Manteca and Lucas van Merwijk's Cubop City Big Band.

In 2007 she traveled to Cuba to take lessons with Orlando 'Cachaito' Lopez and in 2013 she received a scholarship to study in New York with Andy Gonzales, Ruben Rodriguez and John Benitez.

Nowadays she is one of the 'first call' bass players of the Dutch latin scene.

The past 6 years Adinda was the bass player and background singer of Monsieur Periné, a Grammy winning Colombian band with whom she toured the world.

In 2020 Adinda launched her own band Sweet Toko, a band that combines Caribbean grooves with dazzling jazz solos. There new EP is produced by Jason Lindner (David Bowie, Now vs Now, Donny McCaslin) and will be out very soon.
